NextGen Public Health Consulting, LLC is a public health consulting firm specializing in
program planning, health policy consulting, research and evaluation services, and public
health education and workforce development. Led by a PhD-level public health
professional with extensive experience in immunizations, program management and
evaluation, school health, data analytics, health policy creation and implementation, and
health education in higher education, the company provides high-quality, evidence-
based support to individuals, government agencies, schools, nonprofits, health systems,
universities, and community organizations.
The business offers a comprehensive suite of services, including program planning consulting, health policy support, data analytics and reporting, speaking engagements, research design, quality improvement, public health higher ed. curriculum development, dissertation review, and coaching for public health professionals.

Dr. Erica S. Hunter, PhD, MPH, CHES® Founder, Public Health Consultant & Immunization Expert
With a passion for strengthening communities through effective, evidence-based public health practices, Dr. Erica S. Hunter founded her consulting business to bring high-level expertise directly to the organizations that need it most. After nearly a decade leading statewide immunization initiatives for the Virginia Department of Health, Dr. Hunter recognized a growing need for strategic support in immunization planning, evaluation, health policy, and data-driven decision-making across schools, health departments, community organizations, and nonprofits.
Dr. Hunter is a widely recognized immunization expert, researcher, educator, and public health strategist. Her experience includes managing statewide immunization reporting systems, overseeing the Student Immunization Survey (SIS), leading COVID-19 vaccine safety initiatives, developing corrective action plans for local health districts, and presenting complex data to diverse audiences with clarity and impact. She has also been featured in news interviews and has delivered numerous professional trainings and speaking engagements across Virginia.
As a consultant, she specializes in immunization program planning, research design, evaluation, data dashboards, health policy support, curriculum development, and public health workforce training. Her approach blends academic rigor with real-world insight, helping organizations turn data into meaningful action and build sustainable systems that improve community health outcomes.
Dr. Hunter holds a PhD in Public Health, an MPH in Health Promotion, and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®). She is also an adjunct professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she mentors future health professionals. She also brings her expertise to service on multiple health boards.
